About Face – Using Pictures and Videos

If you’re new to using Facebook, start with our introduction to Facebook and discussion about Facebook Fan Pages.

A great Facebook page will get fans because they see the value of your page. One great way to get people to want to be a fan of your page (“like” it) is to post content that includes pictures and video.

Using Pictures and Videos
Pictures and Videos can be a great way to get good content on your Facebook page. Pictures and Videos are the most shared content on the internet, so getting them on your page creates something that people can share. The other advantage is that you can tag your fans in the pictures and videos and when you do, it shows up in the news feeds to all of their friends. Exposure, exposure, exposure.

Who does it well?

Pringles (Pringles): Pringles uses low-budget videos that its demographic loves. People pass these on, “like” them, and essentially advertise for Pringles for free.

Ford (ford): Ford uses pictures in the best way possible: they get someone else to do it. Ford has a ton of pictures on their page that fans have taken and then uploaded to their photo albums. It shows real people using their products.

How can you use this for your business?
Post pictures of people using your products and tag them in the pictures. This will post on their profile and on the news feed of all of their friends. It’s great exposure.

If you own a dog walking service, post pictures of the pets you walk and tag the owners in the pictures. If you own an automotive repair shop, post before and after pictures. This lets your customers see your work as well.

Post videos of how to use your product or of people in the industry talking about your service.

If you sell organic compost, post Michelle Obama planting an organic garden at the White House. If you make silver jewelry, post a video of someone sculpting the jewelry.

You’re only limited by your creativity.  So, decide who your target audience is and post images and videos that target what they would want to see.
