WebVisions 2010

May 19-21, here in Portland, Oregon, there’s a great conference happening that explores the future of web design, technology, user experience and business strategy.

WebVisions looks at the way we design websites, how we create web content, how the user interacts with our creations and how businesses can use the world wide web as a strategy for growth. They follow trends and how and why things change.

This is a great networking event for people in the web field like designers and developers. You can share ideas and get inspired by the panels of speakers and presentations.

The event includes immersion workshops, presentation sessions, and interactive panels.

Workshop topics include:

  • Designing Social Interfaces
  • How to Mix-n’-Match Web APIs
  • iPhone Apps: From Concept to Launch
  • Photography Tips from the New School
  • Hands-On Map Scripting
  • Real World iPhone Development
  • jQuery for Designers
  • Design Strategy in a Nutshell
  • HTML5 and CSS3

Panel topics include:

  • Augmented Reality
  • Techniques for Monitoring Online Communities
  • Reinventing the Podcast
  • The (un)Wired Future of Bikes

And, the session topics are all over the place from designing in Drupal to developing apps for the next generation, visual personality on the web to design-thinking for social change, and effective personal branding to using comics to communicate ideas. There’s a little something for everyone who is involved in this great web business.

So, if you live in Portland, Gresham, Vancouver, Clackamas, or any other great Oregon community like our very own Sandy, get in on the WebVisions conference and get ready to learn a thing or two.

Because we believe in being web designers. Only better.
