On March 18, 2010, Alphabetix hosted a Brown Bag Workshop on marketing your business with Twitter at the Sandy, Oregon Chamber of Commerce. Topics included a discussion of the basics of Twitter, practical tools you can use to market with Twitter, and what kinds of tweets are great for a small business to use.
Microblogs, like blogs, are a great way for small businesses to market themselves. Microblogs have the potential to reach a large number of people that a small business may otherwise have no access to. And the great thing about a microblog like Twitter is that it is free. Now, that’s a good deal.
Just having a Twitter account isn’t enough to get your marketing going. The next step is to make sure that you are writing great content to post on Twitter and to link back to your business web site. Without great content, no one will be able to find your business.
Twitter is a great place to share information with your clients or potential clients, to get feedback from people who use your product or service, and to build your brand and develop a relationship with your followers. If you think that Twitter is the right market for you, sign up and give it a shot. If you feel like you could use a little help developing your brand and marketing your business with social media like Twitter, Alphabetix can help.
Attendants left with practical information about using this social media medium to market their small businesses.
Alphabetix will be hosting a Brown Bag on marketing with Facebook in April and a Brown Bag on blogging in June at the Chamber of Commerce.
We’d like to thank the Sandy Area Chamber of Commerce for having us and look forward to more Brown Bags in the future.
