Blogging – Driving Traffic to Your Blog

Web TrafficOK, so you’ve decided you want to write a blog.  Now, how do you get people to come to your blog?  There are a few simple things you can do to help drive traffic to your blog, and in turn, get your blog to bring you business.

The first thing you can do to drive traffic to your blog is to use other social networking sites, such as facebook and Twitter, to link to your blog.  These can drive quality traffic.  Since these sites are all about networking, if your friends like what you’ve posted and they link to your blog, and their friends link to your blog…well, you can see how this could drive some serious traffic to your blog.

Make sure that your blog reflects what’s important to your business. There’s no point in driving traffic to your blog if your blog doesn’t support the vision of your business.  Make sure your content is relevant and you’ll get the type of potential client you’re looking for.

Your blog posts should also contain keywords that will drive business to your site.  You want to make sure that the content on your blog is full of the words that people would search if they were looking for your business.  Are you a hairdresser? Make sure your blog posts have key words such as “salon, haircut, hairstyle” and the city and state location of your salon.  You might also want phrases like “cute short hairstyles” or “prom hairstyles”.
