Blog owners are well aware of comment spam. Most comment spam is of the dreaded automated kind, the kind we wish we could make disappear with the click of our mouse. Oh wait, we have Akismet for that.
Regardless, automated comment span does not allow the use of comments without moderation. So how can blog owners encourage real people to leave real comments on this blog posts? By rewarding them of course!
Enter CommentLuv
The CommentLuv plug-in allows blog owners to offer a free no-follow link to a commenter’s blog by pulling in the latest blog post from the commenters RSS feed and appending a link to it to the comment. The moderation of these comments is still advised, considering there are always those looking to spam your comment section.
CommentLuv affords the opportunity to be specific about the type of blogs one comments on. Obviously, we need to know how to find blogs that use the CommentLuv plug-in?
Find Some CommentLuv
Newer versions of the plug-in use images to the Enable CommentLuv check box, making the hunt for CommentLuv enabled blogs a bit more difficult. However, there are many blogs with the older version of the plug installed in which Google easily reveals their identity. Simply enter the following string into your Google search:
“Enable CommentLuv which will try and get your last blog post, please be patient while it finds it for you” [your keyword]
Be sure to replace [your keyword] with a keyword (or phrase) relevant to your niche. So if you are looking for blogs about the Portland Trailblazers you might enter the following in to Google:
“Enable CommentLuv which will try and get your last blog post, please be patient while it finds it for you” Portland Trailblazers
Just like anything else you might do with your blog, be sure to fart around with it and have fun!
